Inflection grows the adults closest to students. That work is only as strong as the people who do it. Our team has led classrooms, schools, and systems, and every one of us has sat where the educators and families we partner with sit today.

Kyle Liao

Kyle is the founder of Inflection and a lifelong New Yorker with roots in Queens. The son of Chinese immigrants, he grew up navigating the systems multilingual families are asked to navigate, and that experience still shapes how he shows up in schools.

He began as a middle school English teacher at Harlem Children's Zone and Summit Academy Charter School, serving large numbers of multilingual learners and students with IEPs. He then spent more than a decade building instructional frameworks and coaching programs used across scores of schools, rising from instructional coach to strategic growth leader.

He founded Inflection to do the work on his own terms, with equity as the foundation and Transformational Coaching as the method. He holds a master's in instructional technology from Columbia University Teachers College, a bachelor's in English and secondary education from SUNY Geneseo, and is a Google Certified Educator and Trainer. Outside of work he's a Queens native, a Mandarin speaker, and a lifelong student of the city that raised him.

Anashay Wright

Anashay Wright

Anashay is a lifelong disruptor of inequitable systems and a national award-winning educator, speaker, and consultant with more than 20 years of experience coaching and developing leaders at every level. Across the K-12 sector she has designed programs and led teams at national education nonprofits and community organizations, and she has served as an adjunct professor, an advisor to elected officials, and a founding board member for new schools and teacher-preparation programs. A certified executive coach and system-level strategist, she specializes in implicit bias, equity, and building the collective power of racially diverse communities. Her work has earned national recognition from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, NPR, and The 74. Outside of work she leads with a deep love for community and a belief in the promise of every child.

Georgia Ellis Wright

Georgia Ellis Wright

Georgia is an educator and instructional leader who brings over 10 years of experience to the team as a classroom teacher and instructional coach. She grounds her work in partnership, striving to engage all stakeholders as meaningful collaborators in the rigorous and transformative work of improving instructional outcomes, implementing effective and engaging strategies, and unearthing reflective, joyful learning settings for all. A licensed and experienced special education teacher, she specializes in differentiation, inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning, standards-based learning, and project-based learning. Outside of work she's a runner, scuba diver, mother, and baker.

Dr. Jacob T. Michelman

Dr. Jacob T. Michelman

Jacob is a school leader and organizational-change expert with more than 22 years in education. He began as a high school math teacher in New Jersey before becoming one of the youngest principals in New York City, where he led a struggling school to a Well-Developed Quality Review rating, moved its report card from an F to an A, and raised over three million dollars to modernize its library and technology. After a decade as a principal he became a consultant, writing leadership-development curricula, training the coaches who deliver them, and building systems that authentically measure participant learning. He specializes in school leadership, systemic change, and executive coaching, and earned his EdD in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Patrice E. Fenton

Dr. Patrice E. Fenton

Patrice is our co-founder and an equity-centered strategist with deep experience in leadership development, teacher education, and collective wellness, particularly in Black communities. A proud Brooklyn native and former New York City special educator, she is a highly skilled facilitator whose work spans organizational development, measurement, and evaluation. She is the former Director of Leader Support and Development at EdLoC, a national network of more than 350 education leaders of color, and served as the first Associate Director of NYC Men Teach at the City University of New York. She is currently co-authoring a book on building school communities where belonging is center stage. She holds four degrees, including a PhD in teaching and learning. Outside of work she is a proud mom.

Reginald Richardson

Reginald Richardson

Reginald is a school leader and educator with more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal, and a graduate of the New York City Leadership Academy. He was drawn to Inflection by its vision of sustainable, transformative change in schools and more just and equitable communities, values he has carried throughout his own career and believes have to be lived rather than simply stated. He holds a JD from Howard University School of Law, an EdM from Harvard University, and a master's in educational leadership from Baruch College, and is certified in school district and building leadership. Outside of work he is a brother, husband, and uncle, a lover of art, film, music, and books, and a student of politics and history who is always up for a long walk around the city.
